Courtside Newsflash! Internal Complaint Procedure May Limit Employer Liability

In late May, the California Court of Appeals decided an age discrimination case in favor of the employer. That decision reaffirmed prior court decisions (including a decision by the United States Supreme Court) that employers who have an internal complaint procedure may avoid or limit liability if an employee files a lawsuit after not taking advantage of the procedure.
